Return to Myself

From the album The Enigma VI (The Return to the Origin)

"Return to Myself" is one of the most representative songs in the Shinnobu universe. It is part of the album The Enigma VI (The Return to the Origin), but due to the experience that inspired it and the message it carries, this song deserves its own dedicated story.

This is not simply another track in a musical catalog. This piece channels an inner memory, a vision, a connection to ancient times and forgotten wisdom. It represents the return to the deepest layers of the self— those buried by systems, beliefs, and structures that disconnect us from our true essence.

Origin of the Song

The spark for this creation came after watching a documentary that showed colossal trees— massive structures that, according to certain theories, once covered the Earth. Trees kilometers high, now reduced to stumps. Whether or not the documentary was real didn’t matter—what mattered was what it awakened within me.

I had a vision. A journey through time. I saw myself in an ancient world, surrounded by enormous trees. It felt like an age of natural gigantism: giant fruits, towering beings, and a kind of knowledge vastly different from what we have today.

In that landscape, I saw a woman sitting at the base of one of those trees, practicing holotropic breathing. She was in a deep meditative state. She held a flute, but she wasn’t playing it. She was simply breathing—rhythmically and with intention. It was an ancestral practice to activate the Merkaba— the energetic vehicle of the soul.

Around her, others formed a circle, also participating in what felt like a sacred ceremony. Some were chanting ancient, guttural mantras—unrecognizable but powerful:

  • EN-TO-SAH
  • SON-DOH-NAH
  • EX-THA-SEE

The woman’s body began to dematerialize. She was dissolving into energy, as her consciousness vibrated at a frequency capable of detaching from the physical realm.

Breath and Energy

Part of the song includes sounds of rhythmic breathing, which in some cases have been misunderstood. Some listeners have interpreted them as erotic—perhaps influenced by other music styles. But let me be absolutely clear: they are resonant holotropic breaths, an ancient technique used to transform the body’s energy and facilitate inner travel.

These breaths are not sexual in nature, but rather spiritual and energetic. Through conscious rhythm (inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale), one can reach altered states of perception, activate the Merkaba, and transcend time, space, and matter.

This technique and its background will be explored further in two upcoming Shinnopedia articles:

Musical Style

Musically, “Return to Myself” blends elements of epic music, ambient, spiritual electronica, and medieval-futuristic textures.
It features rock-style bass lines, ambient pads, choral voices, ancestral flutes (such as the Japanese shakuhachi), and chants that do not belong to any known language.

These are phonemes of the soul. Their purpose is not to be understood intellectually, but to be felt by consciousness.

The Meaning Behind the Title: Return to Myself

The title “Return to Myself” represents the return to what I am beyond what I’ve been taught.

It is a return to my natural wisdom—to what already lives inside me: the ability to breathe, feel, see, decide, dream, create. These are things no one taught me, but they’ve always been there.

Modern society has severed many of these capacities. We’re told we need external tools to travel, to know, to remember. But that is not true. All of that is already within us.

This song is an act of remembrance. A message in the form of sound. A condensed experience that activates something in those who are ready to receive it.

Words from the Artist

“I never studied music. I didn’t attend any university. I barely finished primary school.”

“What I do, I do through intuition—through what I feel and remember.”

“I am a lover of trees, insects, and all forms of life.”

“Shinnobu is not a person—it’s a network, a tree with many branches.”

“Music is only an extension of the infinite.”

“Returning to myself means respecting myself—it means remembering who I am.”

“I don’t want to impose truth—only to share mine.”

Toward a Living Community

Shinnobu is not just a musical project. It is a woven network of knowledge, a community open to other voices.

People like Sandy, a breathwork content creator, and other invited contributors in areas such as astrology, science, culture, and healing will be part of this expanding network. Their pages and insights will be linked to the growing body of work.

Each song is a leaf. Each story, a branch. And each person who contributes becomes a new root.

Lyrics Analysis

This song features a short yet deeply symbolic lyrical structure—blending phonetic mantras, English affirmations, and French fragments. It is not meant to be understood logically, but rather felt as vibration.

You can read the full lyrics and listen to the song here.

  • EN-TO-SAH
  • SON-DOH-NAH
  • EX-THA-SEE

These vocal sounds are soul phonemes, acting as vibrational keys.

The phrase “Fortune favours the brave” is repeated to affirm inner courage— the spiritual strength to journey inward.

Other phrases, like “Défenseur de la foi” and “Ne parlez pas contre le soleil”, bring a ritualistic, sacred and warning tone.

The combination of languages and non-linear structure supports the song’s universal and multidimensional essence.
